Aonach Eagach and Curved Ridge

2-3 September 2017
Two days of guided scrambling along the Aonach Eagach and up Curved Ridge in Glence. Al Halewood was leading....

Our plan on the Saturday was a traverse of the famed 'Aonach Eagach' ridge above Glencoe. The pace was steady, the weather conditions were perfect and the group completed the ridge traverse and back down to the roadside by 6pm.

For Sunday, the plan was to get up Etive Mor via Curved Ridge. Not a great forecast for the day was expected, but, as is typical with Scottish weather, expected the unexpected and the weather was much better than anticipated. A fit and competent group of 3, we flew up Curved Ridge in the dry for an early lunch on the summt Sgurr Dearg. An 'optional extra' for the descent instead of the usual Coirre Tulach - we dscended by Great Gully Buttress, a steep Grade 2 Scramble which we did only catching the rain after mid afternoon. Looks like Tower Ridge will be next for these guys !
