Jonathon Ridge's Munro
Compleation - 7 April 2002

Yep..a
day to remember.
Jonathon had been walking with a couple of friends on the Saturday, doing the
Applecross Corbetts, but had no thoughts of doing his last Munro. However at
the campsite they decided it was too beautiful an opportunity to miss.
The three of them set off, but unknown to Jonathon, his companions had
contacted more of Jonathon's hill-bagging buddies. Despite the wonderful
weather (particularly for April), it was only Les and Jonathon that climbed
Beinn Liath Mhor (his second last).

While
Jonathon was bagging his penultimate munro, several other munroists were aiming
for Sgorr Ruadh, in the hope of suprising him. Keith, Cassie and myself were
walking in from Craig. We'd been up this hill less than a week earlier and were
hillwaking in the area during the week when we received a call to join in. How
could we resist ?
We arrived on the summit as Jonathon was arriving from the north - it couldn't
have been timed better if we tried !
Eight of us celebrated Jonathon's entry into the Munroist's Hall of Fame. In
fact of the people there, only two hadn't "compleated" - and that's since been
rectified !

The weather
did us all proud, gloriously clear conditions allowed fantastic views all
round, particularly towards Torridon. Fhuar Tholl looked equally inviting, we
almost gave in, but a last minute decision was made to not to climb it -
another day perhaps.
Time taken : 4hr
Ascent : 3,200ft
