Guided walks into Knoydart
Take the boat over from Mallaig and spend some time hillwalking in Knoydart while based at the Knoydart Foundation Bunkhouse Day 1 : Leave Mallaig and sail by boat to Inverie Day 2 : Luinne Bheinn and Meall Buidhe in Knoydart Day 3 : Ladhar Bheinn in Knoydart Day 4 : Beinn na Caillich, then leave Inverie and return to Mallaig Possibly the most beautiful area in Scotland, Knoydart is a peninsula on the west coast opposite Skye. Without road or rail links, this is a remote and rugged area offering tranquillity. The mountains are complex, with Ladhar Bheinn (Larven) dominating the peninsula above high ridges, cliffs and dark coires. Based in Inverie, this package takes in some of Scotland's finest scenery while staying at a comfortable bunkhouse. Should you wish to splash out a little extra, the Inverie Inn has a cosy atmosphere with superb local Scottish cuisine. General outline of trip :
Day 1
Meeting up on the Friday morning in Mallaig from where the ferry takes us over to Inverie.
This will give us a chance to get to know each other, discuss kit and plan the days on the hills.
We arrive late morning, which leaves plenty time for you to explore the surrounding area nearby.
Day 2 24km, 1600m, 9-11hr
Day 3 24km, 1500m, 9-11hr
Day 4
We don't leave until around 3pm on Monday, we therefore have some time to Beinn na Caillich, bike up some of the tracks, or just relax !The package includes 3 nights at Knoydart Foundation Bunkhouse, and boat transport from Mallaig to Inverie.
