Held in The Pentland Hills, just south of Edinburgh and starting at 9:30am, these three hour sessions cover the basic skills needed to navigate with confidence on Scotland's hills.
A classroom session is followed by practice on the hills. The class size is restricted to 4 people so as to allow the topics to be covered in depth and put into practice by everyone.
If you'd like to come along, please have a map, compass, map-case and watch with a stop-watch facility (see panel to the right for recommendations).
Sturdy footwear is also recommended along with appropriate outdoor clothing - once outside, we will be stopping and starting frequently, so having gloves and hat/buff will be quickly appreciated !
With the longer nights beckoning, the session organised for 18 October also looks at the skills required for successful night navigation and puts them into practice.
Tuesday, 17 April, cost £35 (Tuesday evening, starts at 5:30pm)
