Standing by the eastern end of the Kintail's Brothers ridge, Aonach Meadhoin, along with its minor satellite peak Sgùrr an Fhuarail, tower above the Cluanie Inn by the western end of Loch Cluanie.

Aonach Meadhoin can be climbed on its own, with the most direct line of ascent being from the eastern end of Glen Shiel. However, it is most likely to be bagged on a route also taking in other nearby Munros on the Kintail Brothers ridge.

The slopes above Cluanie Inn and Glen Shiel are in the main grass-covered and old stalkers tracks can be found to gain access to higher ground. Once up onto the Kintail Brothers ridge, paths are easily traced along mountain crests with just a few little spots involving some easy scrambling.
