Viewed from Poolewe to the mountain's northwest, a prominent rocky spur on stands on Beinn AiRìgh Charr's northern face, giving the mountain a distinctive outline. Overlooking Loch an Doire Crionaich, this tower is called Spidein Moirich (Martha's Peak), named such after a legendary shepherdess who tragically fell to her death there.

The most practical approaches to Beinn Àirigh Chàrr begin from Poolewe where a choice of estate track or well defined paths lead to the foot of the mountain and beyond into Letterewe.
