In Torridon, Beinn Eighe is a vast mountain of quartzite, with many peaks. Spidean Coire nan Clach rests in the centre of Beinn Eighe's ridges and crests and is the lower of the two Munro summits on the mountain.

The most direct route up Spidean Coire nan Clach begins from Glen Torridon, from where a maintained path travels into Coire an Laoigh below Beinn Eighe's crests. Higher up a trig point is reached, from where a short distance and a little scrambling reaches the summit of Spidean Coire nan Clach.

Most hillwalkers will opt to continue further along Beinn's bouldery crests from Spidean Coire nan Clach's summit, with many options for route choice, including detouring to the 'Black Carls', heading northwards to the other Munro summit Ruadh-stac Mor or hiking out below the magnificent Triple Buttress of Coire Mhic Fhearchair.
