Beinn Tharsuinn is a very remote hill in Easter Ross, little seen from lower ground and only really visible from the head of Strath Vaich, where it is still largely glimpsed rather than fully revealed. The slopes are mostly gentle and heather-clad, with the higher ground giving way to stunted vegetation and patches of stony terrain.
A large erratic boulder stands just to the north of the summit, which is marked by a small cairn. From here there are open views in most directions, with Carn Chuinneag presenting a particularly fine aspect to the east.
The most straightforward approach is from the pass separating Gleann Mòr and Strath Vaich. This can be reached either from Black Bridge near Aultguish to the south, via Strath Vaich, or from Alladale Lodge through Gleann Mòr, both routes making use of good estate tracks. From the pass, a faint path leads towards the summit, passing attractive Crom Loch en route.
