Aonach Eagach

A blog post from one of our mountain adventures in the Scottish hills and mountains. Guided traverse along the Aonach Eagach Alan Halewood was leading.

Aonach Eagach traverse

We're back ! After cancelling and re-scheduling events due to the Covid pandemic restrictions, we're at last back out in the mountains of Scotland. Our first event of the year was an Aonach Eagach traverse being led by Alan Halewood.

After a stunning April, weather began to get chilly toward the end of the month. Alan had two people on the ridge, Mike and Stephen and both were asked to bring some extra layers to keep out the chill. After getting up to Meall Dearg, the first Munro on an east-west traverse of the ridge, snow-flakes and hailstones bounced around, but with cloud being so high, the rock stayed dry all day. The guys were great and moved swiftly along the ridge, meeting other teams on the way. Down by 4pm, a great day out !
