Long, flat crests of moorland are typical of the hills surrounding Cock Bridge and The Lecht. Càrn Ealasaid, which is the highest point in these hills to the west of the Lecht Ski Centre, is no exception, its summit standing above millburn heather and peak-hag bealachs.
The obvious choice for a hillwalking route up Càrn Ealasaid is to begin from the Lecht Ski Centre. With a mere ascent of 300m over 7km (there-and-back) and with obvious tracks follow for much of the way over gently rising ground, there will be plenty tìme left in the day for more hillwalking perhaps on nearby Càrn Bàn or Brown Cow Hill.
