Overlooking the forest north of Carrbridge, Càrn Glas-choire stands at the southern edge of the vast Dava Moor, which stretches northward from Carrbridge to Cawdor. The summit is set in a grass and heather-covered peat bog, overlooking steeper slopes to the south.
The shortest approach begins from a farm just north of the village of Duthil, where a decent track leads to the foot of the hill, above which a rougher track climbs steeply to the crest just northwest of the summit.
A longer approach begins further north from near Lochindorb and follows well-maintained wind farm roads and estate tracks. This route offers a more gradual ascent to the summit.
On a bike, combining these two routes explores the moorland more fully with only a short detour on foot from the highest point of the tracks to Càrn Glas-choire's summit trig point.
