Rising above the beautiful yet rugged coastline of Harris, Clisham (or An Cliseam) is the highest mountain in the Western Isles.
Roadside views from the A896 to Clisham, whether from the south up Coire Dubh or from the north-east looking to Coire Loch nan Eang, give Clisham a rugged appearance, not disimilar to the Red Cuillin of Skye. Yet hiking routes up the mountain are fairly short, direct and straightforward.
