Cnap Cruinn is a relatively featureless, rolling hill, its slopes covered for the most part in heather. Standing in an isolated position above Glen Spean, Cnap Cruinn offers fine views in all directions, including towards the Grey Corries and over to the Meagaigh massif.
The most direct approach to Cnap Cruinn begins from near Fersit where, estate tracks wind through woodland and forestry plantations, passing near the remnants of an old 'puggy line'. These tracks lead to the base of Cnap Cruinn, where a straightforward, if pathless, ascent begins across heather-covered slopes.
