Creag Ghuanach rises above the southern end of Loch Treig, its north and eastern faces appearing rugged and craggy from the shores below despite its relatively modest height. In contrast, its southern and western slopes rise more gently, covered in grass. Above, the terrain is a mix of grass, rock and scattered lochans, leading to a small cairn marking the summit.

Although overshadowed by larger neighbours, Creag Ghuanach offers surprisingly fine views, particularly towards 'This Yin and That Yin' and the Lochaber peaks.

Its remote position, standing well away from any roadside, requires some effort to reach and may require an overnight stay. Staoineag Bothy below its southern slopes is in good condition and maintained by the MBA. Cyclable tracks approach from several directions, and Corrour Halt on the Glasgow to Fort William line provides the nearest public transport access.

Beinn na Cloiche lies close by, and the two Grahams can be combined in a single outing.
