Creag Liath is a small, steep-sided hill covered in heather, situated in the Monadh Liath. It comes into view during a hike along Glen Banchor and offers fine summit views - notably the crags of Càrn Dearg and the north-facing silhouette of Creag Dubh on the opposite side of the glen.
Creag Liath can be climbed on its own or as part of a route to Càrn Dearg. The ascent follows grassy lines through its otherwise craggy and heather-clad eastern face, while the descent can be an enjoyable run down its grass-covered northern crest.
