Creag Mhòr sits in the remote eastern Cairngorms above Abernethy Forest. This broad, heather-clad Corbett is crowned by granite tors, its rocky summit rewards walkers with expansive views across neighbouring Munros.
Creag Mhòr’s remoteness means long distances, but a bike can ease the approach, especially from Glenmore along the Strath Nethy route used for Bynack More. This starts on a good track toward the River Nethy, beyond which the route becomes path rather than track. An alternative, much longer but more bikeable, is to approach from Tomintoul via estate tracks leading into Glen Avon.
