Sow of Atholl

The Sow of Atholl, originally known as Meall an Dobhrachan (hill of the watercress), is a rounded Corbett of grass and heather that rises above the head of Loch Garry and stands on the western side of Drumochter Pass. Its unusual name reflects its neighbour An Torc, the Boar of Badenoch. Modest in stature yet prominent in the landscape, it sits at the foot of Sgàirneach Mhòr.
The simplest way to climb the Sow of Atholl is to combine it with the Munros west of Drumochter Pass, where it is a short detour from Sgàirneach Mhòr.
