Gathersnow Hill is a high point and one of two Grahams on a series of rolling hills in the Southern Uplands, north of Tweedsmuir. Views from Culter Fell's summit over the Clyde Valley are quite lovely, though a bit of a shame about the massive wind farm spoiling the view south-west.
Gathersnow Hill is most easily gained from the estate tracks in Glen Holm or by Kingledoors Burn. However, for a fine hike or run over rolling hills, I've found the circuit around Coulter Reservoir to be more enjoyable.
On rolling hillsides and vast plateaux, paths aside fence-lines are followed for most of the way to Gathersnow Hill's summit. Tracks put in for the wind-turbines to the west and south of Gathersnow Hill aid access and make for straightforward navigation.
