Standing above the forests of Glen Garry to the north and Loch Arkaig to the south, Geal Chàrn is a rather characterless, grass-covered lump. Its most interesting feature is the wooded gorge travelling down its lower western slopes.
Although Geal Chàrn is a fairly remote hill, estate tracks heading in from the eastern end of Loch Arkaig get to within less then 2km of its summit. Higher up and linked by grass-covered crests along which lines of fence-posts run, a hike on Geal Chàrn can be combined with nearby Meall na h-èilde and other lower hills.
