Part of the Manor Hills in the Southern Uplands, Greenside Law rises quietly above the head of Manor Water and the eastern end of Megget reservoir. Like much of the surrounding upland terrain, it is a rolling, grassy and heather-covered hill, blending into the broader ridges and crests of this expansive landscape.
Topographically, Greenside Law is something of a minor outlier, lying off the main Dollar Law–Cramalt Craig crest. Despite being listed as a Donald - a classification of hills in the Southern Uplands over 2000 feet - it has no summit markers: no cairn, no trig point, and not even a fence-line crosses the highest point, making it a subtle and easily overlooked top.
Because it is encircled by higher and more prominent neighbours such as Dollar Law, Black Law, and Cramalt Craig, Greenside Law is rarely a primary target. It is most often included in longer hill circuits across the area. Approaches are typically made either from the end of the public road in Manor Valley or from tracks leading out from the eastern end of Megget Reservoir, both of which provide access to the crests surrounding the head of Manor Water.
