Standing above Glen Lee and the western end of Loch Lee, Hunt Hill is a broad, generally grass-covered hill with a steep and somewhat craggy eastern face.
Hunt Hill is not the highest hill in the area, but sufficient prominence earns it a place among the Grahams. Across Glen Lee, both Wolf Craig and Muckle Cairn rise higher, though neither has the required prominence from Mount Keen or Ben Tirran for inclusion in the list.
Despite its greater height, Hunt Hill is somewhat overshadowed on the approach from Loch Lee by neighbouring Craig Maskeldie. Its striking north-eastern face rises abruptly above the glen in a line of crags and cliffs, bearing something of a resemblance to The Devil's Point in the Cairngorms.
Hunt Hill can be approached from Invermark via Loch Lee and the Water of Lee. Its northern slopes provide a rough ascent, with some deep heather to negotiate, while a more varied return can be made southwards past the impressive Falls of Damff and over Cairn Lick.
