Leana Mhòr is a modest yet striking Fiona hill standing sentinel at the entrance to Glen Roy. Its slopes are largely clad in heather, and its broad, grassy summit crest gives it a bold presence. It rises above two spurs flanking Coire an t-Seilich, lending it a slightly imposing appearance when viewed from below.

Leana Mhòr can be climbed on its own or combined with neighbouring Beinn Iaruinn, to which it is linked by a bealach at just over 500m in elevation.
