Sgùrr Èilde Mòr is the most easterly Munro peak in the Mamores range. A rough mountain, whale-back in shape, though most people will view it from the south-west above its lochans where it appears more dome-like.

With exception of a full Munros traverse, most routes to Sgùrr Èilde Mòr begin from Kinlochleven to the south-west from where fine estate tracks and stalkers paths gain access to the heather-clad base of the mountain. Enevitably, a climb up loose rock and scree will be needed to gain the cairn on Sgùrr Èilde Mòr's summit.

As part of the Mamores, Sgùrr Èilde Mòr is linked to other nearby peaks and most hilllwalkers will want to bag more Munros as part of a day on the hills - a circular route aiming from Kinlochleven taking in Binnein Mòr and Na Gruagaichean with Sgùrr Èilde Mòr is recommended.

For fit hikers and hill-runners, here is also the option of bagging Sgùrr èilde Mòr as part of a complete Mamores traverse (or even a longer Tranter's Round or Ramsay's Round).
