Meall Doire Fàid is a lower satellite of Beinn Enaiglair, separated from it by the broad Bealach nam Bùthan at around 550 m. Its heather-clad southern slopes rise gently above Braemore Junction, contrasting with a steep, rocky northern face overlooking Corrieshalloch Gorge. From the summit, wide and far-reaching views extend towards Coigach to the north-west, and westwards over An Teallach, the Fisherfield hills and the Fannichs.
A short, mainly pathless climb from near Braemore Junction leads up Meall Doire Fàid’s southern slopes. The hill can be ascended on its own for a quick outing or combined with nearby Beinn Enaiglair via the Bealach nam Bùthan for a longer round.
