Meall Fuar-mhonaidh is a prominent and distinctive hill standing above the western shores of Loch Ness, roughly midway between Invermoriston and Drumnadrochit. Despite its modest height, it offers expansive views and is a popular objective.

The most common and direct ascent begins from the Great Glen Way by Grotaig, where a signed route leads up an eroded hill path to the summit. While there are no real alternative lines of ascent, the outing can be extended by including the quieter neighbouring hill of Glas-bheinn Mhòr. This allows for a more remote circuit exploring lochans and open moorland beyond the busy main path.
