Monamenach is a lonely, rounded Corbett dominating the head of Glen Isla — the westernmost of the Angus Glens — with grass and heather covering. Though unassuming in shape, its modest summit offers surprisingly wide views northwards to the southern Glenshee Hills and into the Cairngorms.
The most straightforward route follows estate and ATV tracks from Auchavan in Glen Isla. For those interested in something more ambitious, Monamenach can be part of a longer circuit above Glen Isla that includes adjacent hills such as Duchray Hill and Badandun Hill.
