Mullach Coire nan Geur-oirean crowns the grassy expanse of Druim na Giuthsaich - a wide, gently undulating ridge that runs west to east above the southern shores of Loch Arkaig. Though remote, this quiet summit rewards effort with sweeping views and a peaceful sense of isolation.
Perhaps the most straightforward approach is to cycle in from the head of Loch Arkaig along a good track that follows the loch's southern shore and continues through Glen Mallie. From near the abandoned ruin of Glenmallie, a steep hike up heather-clad slopes leads directly onto the ridge of Druim na Giuthsaich, and from there to the summit.
Alternatively, Mullach Coire nan Geur-oirean can be combined with a hike up Gulvain, to which it is linked by a grassy ridge. The connecting col between these summits sits at around 536m, making this an appealing extension with only a modest additional uphill effort.
