Sgùrr a' Mhadaidh is a prominent mountain in the Black Cuillin of Skye, reaching just over Munro height at 918 metres. It occupies a key position on the Cuillin ridge where the main spine of the range shifts from an east-west direction to a north-south axis. From its summit, three ridges extend outward: northwest to Sgùrr Thuilm, south to An Dorus and on to Sgùrr a' Ghreadaidh, and eastward across three dramatic subsidiary tops towards Bidein Druim nan Ràmh.

The most straightforward approach to Sgùrr a' Mhadaidh is from Glen Brittle, ascending via Coire a' Ghreadaidh to reach the gap of An Dorus. From there, a relatively easy scramble leads to the summit. Because of their proximity and shared route, most hillwalkers choose to climb Sgùrr a' Ghreadaidh along with Sgùrr a' Mhadaidh in a single outing.
