Sgùrr Chòinnich sits a the western end of a long ridge stretching above Glen Uig and Loch Monar.
The most direct route to Sgùrr Chòinnich starts at Craig in Glen Carron and follows an estate track through Glen Uig to the mountain's base. From there, a circular hike along crests and corrie rims ascends Sgùrr Choinnich, continues to Sgùrr a' Chaorachain, and then returns to Glen Uig.
