In the north-western corner of Ardgour, Sgùrr Ghiubhsachain is a rugged hill and the highest point on a line of crests and peaks overlooking the southern shores of Loch Shiel. Possibly seen at its best as a backdrop to the Glenfinnan Monument, the northern ridge-line of Sgùrr Ghiubhsachain rises dramatically above the waters of the loch.
The shortest approaches to Sgùrr Ghiubhsachain are on the estate tracks that begin from Callop River to the north. One estate track heads down from here following the southern shore of Loch Shiel to Guesachan, whereas another follows the Allt na Cruaiche to meet with right-of-way footpath to foot of the hill on its southern side.
A longer route heads in from the east through Cona Glen from Inverscaddle Bay on Loch Linnhe. An estate travels along the length of this glen, on which a bike could be used.
