Sgurr Mor is the highest peak in the Fannichs mountain range and has a broad summit on which stands a large well-formed cairn perched above steep drops on one side and weird solifluction erosion terraces on the other.

Sgurr Mor can be approached from various directions, Braemore and Dirrie More to the north, Loch Glascarnoch to the east or Loch Fannich to the south. Being part of the Fannichs mountain range, any hike to the summit will involve hiking along mountain crests and bagging another peak or more, along which a network of stalkers path travel.
