Sgurr na Carnach is a rocky little summit standing on the Five Sisters of Kintail ridge, half way between its two higher neighbours Sgurr Fhuaran and Sgurr na Ciste Duibhe. Having prviously been a 'Munro Top' it was promoted to Munros status in 1997.
As Sgurr na Carnach sits between two other Munros in the Five Sisters, it is most likely to be bagged on a route with these, the most enjoyable of which starts from a height of just under 200m in Glen Shiel and continues on towards Loch Duich - organising some form of transport between the start and finishing points on such a route will avoid a long walk back along the busy A87.
