Sitting in a very remote and wild area, rugged Sgurr na Ciche is the highest peak in the Rough Bounds of Knoydart. Overlooking several corries and glens, views from the summit are astounding, with superb seaward panoramas over Eigg, Rum, Skye and beyond to be enjoyed on clear days. A personal Munro favourite !
Route possibilities to Sgurr na Ciche are numerous. From Sourlies Bothy at the head of Loch Nevis to the south-west, a long hike from Inverie to the west or combined with a traverse of Ben Aden from Barrisdale.
Probably the most popular is from Glen Dessarry, where a forest track gets to within 4km of Sgurr na Ciche. A bit of scrambling up a gully and some steep terrain is encountered and most hillwalkers will opt for a traverse of its neighbours Garbh Chioch Mhor and Sgurr nan Coireachan.
An epic challenge traversing the peaks and ridges of the Rough Bounds of Knoydart while hiking a circular route around Loch Quoich makes for a long day - or two if you fancy a bivvi !
