Sgùrr nan Ceathreamhnan rises high above the western end of Glen Affric, one of the most imposing mountains in the Highlands. Its sprawling bulk is defined by several ridges radiating from twin summits, separated by a narrow dip and short scramble. The mountain connects to a host of neighbouring Munros and subsidiary tops, forming the centrepiece of an exceptionally complex and impressive range.
There are several approaches to Sgùrr nan Ceathreamhnan. From the west, routes begin near Strath Croe and climb over Bealach an Sgairne, with the Corbett Sgùrr Gaorsaic perhaps added en route. From Affric Youth Hostel below its southern slopes - the hostel can be reached from Loch Cluanie to the south or from Loch Affric to the east. Another fine entry comes from Glen Elchaig to the north-west, passing the dramatic Falls of Glomach. The peak can also be included in the full Mullardoch Round — a 12-Munro epic, tackled in a day by hill-runners or over two days by backpacking hillwalkers.
