Mighty Stob Gabhar sits above the Black Mount overlooking Loch Tulla and the forests surrounding Abhainn Shira. There are many spurs on this complex mountain, some wide and grass-covered, others more narrow and rocky.
Most route choices up Stob Ghabhar begin from Victoria Bridge and are preceded with a hike up Stob a' Choire Odhair. There are some fine tracks heading to the base of the mountains with obvious paths higher up. The sight of an 'Aonach Eagach' on a map may put the fear into some, but fortunately, although quite narrow, there are no real difficulties on this.
