Sgùrr a’ Choire Ghlais is the highest peak in the Strathfarrar Munros circuit, a shapely pyramid with steep northern flanks. Its broad summit plateau is crowned by two large cairns and a trig point marking the top, from where the views sweep across the circuit and beyond.

On a clockwise cirecuit of the Strathfarrar Munros, Sgùrr a’ Choire Ghlais is reached from the crest east of Creag Ghorm a' Bhealaich. Beyond its broad summit plateau, the ridge continues towards Càrn nan Gobhar.
