Conachcraig is a modest yet delightful heather-clad Corbett nestled in Balmoral Forest. Often overlooked in favour of grander Munro peaks, it nonetheless rewards with its quiet charm.
From the main Lochnagar path, the ascent to the small cairn on one of Conachcraig's summit granite tors is pleasantly short - about 165m of ascent over roughly 1.5km. A further northward diversion to the minor summit of Caisteal na Caillich offers enhanced views.
