Beinn an Dòthaidh stands immediately north of Beinn Dorain, the two divided by the high bealach that lies between Coire an Dòthaidh to the west and Coire a’ Ghabhalach to the east. In contrast to its shapely neighbour, Dòthaidh has a sprawling summit plateau edged by crags that drop dramatically northwards to Coire Achaladair and eastwards into Coire Daingean. Three cairned tops mark the crest, the central one identifying the Munro’s true summit, with fine views west to the Black Mount and north over Rannoch Moor to the distant hills of Lochaber.

Beinn an Dòthaidh is most commonly climbed from Bridge of Orchy, either on its own or together with Beinn Dorain. It can also form part of a longer round linking all five Munros standing between Bridge of Orchy and Loch Lyon.
