Beinn an Eòin is a long, rugged Corbett rising within the wild expanse of Flowerdale Forest, between Loch Maree and Torridon. Its ridge runs north–south with several tops, culminating in the summit at its southern end, perched dramatically above crags that tower over the lonely waters of Loch na h-Oidhche. The mountain feels remote and secluded, offering a superb sense of wilderness and striking views across to Torridon and out towards the sea.
The usual approach is from Am Feur-loch (Loch Bad an Sgalaig) on the A832, where an estate track provides a rough but bikeable route into the heart of Flowerdale. This leads to Loch na h-Oidhche, from which a fine circuit can be made, climbing Beinn an Eòin and, for many, continuing on to the neighbouring Corbett of Baosbheinn for a classic hill round.
