Glimpsed from the 'destitution road' travelling from Braemore Junction to Dundonnell, Creag Rainich is a shy, unassuming and grass-covered Corbett hill standing alone on the eastern fringes of Fisherfield Forest.

Starting from the southern end of the 'destitution road', a fairly direct and straightforward route can be made up Creag Rainich following a fine estate track tracing the edge of Loch a' Bhraoin's northern shore.

Alternatively, if camping in Fisherfield, perhaps with an aim to bag the Fisherfield Big 6, a short afternoon's hike can be made up Creag Rainich from the woodland near Achnegie, passing some lovely waterfalls on the way.
