Groban rises above the western end of Loch a' Bhraoin and, together with nearby Beinn Bheag, forms a pair of grassy Fionas sitting between the Fannichs and Fisherfield.

Several approaches with tracks and paths lead to the base of these hills - from Incheril via the Heights of Kinlochewe, from Corrie Hallie towards Loch an Nid, or most directly from Loch a’ Bhraoin, which provides the easiest cycle-in.

From there, Groban is a straightforward climb on mostly grassy ground. A large erratic boulder and small cairn mark its flat summit, where far-reaching views extend to Slioch, Torridon and the Fisherfield peaks.
