Ben Wyvis has an isolated position near Dingwall and not far from Inverness. With much improved paths and enlarged the car-park, Ben Wyvis is a very popular mountain with hillwalkers.
The most direct route up is from near Garve and is very obvious, but beware the featureless whale-back summit plateau of Ben Wyvis can catch out even the most experienced hillwalker, particularly in mist or with snow cover.
Many options could be explored to extend the direct route, perhaps even adding in nearby Little Wyvis, a fine Corbett peak.
