In south-east Ardgour, the western facing grass-covered slopes of Fuar Bheinn stand above rugged coires falling down into Glen Galmadale.

For an approach from Glen Tarbert, a hike up Fuar Bheinn along with Creach Bheinn begins from a track which near the head of Loch Sunart. Fuar Bheinn can also be reached from a track that begins by Kingairloch followed by a hike through Coire Ghardail, but the finest route follows the crest of a horseshoe ridge above Glen Galmadale which takes in other peaks including Creach Bheinn and Beinn na Cille.
