Ciste Buide a’ Claidheimh forms the highest point on the long north–south crest of the Shee of Ardtalnaig, lying between the Corbetts of Creagan na Beinne and Creag Uchdag. Rising gradually to its southern end, the summit stands above a dramatic landslip, with broad grassy slopes giving fine views across Loch Tay and the rolling hills of Perthshire.
From Ardtalnaig on the southern shores of Loch Tay, estate tracks lead around the base of the Shee of Ardtalnaig and offer several lines onto the ridge. The easiest approach climbs the north-western slopes, where the track rises close to the crest before short pathless ground leads to the summit. Longer options make use of the tracks circling the ridge to combine Ciste Buide a’ Claidheimh with neighbouring Creagan na Beinne or Creag Uchdag for a fuller day.
