Carn Dearg Mor is the highest point on a crescent shaped and heather clad hill overlooking the woodlands and forests surrounding Glen Feshie.

There are various approaches up Carn Dearg Mhor, but probably the most pleasant route begins with a cycle down the estate roads through beautiful Glen Tromie to reach some remote hydro-works. The start of a lovely hillwalking route begins from here and also takes in nearby Meallach Mhor.

Carn Dearg Mhor can be hiked as a short detour from the track travelling from Glen Feshie to Leathad an Taobhain. It is worth noting however that Rothiemurchus Estate has removed the track on the southern face of Carn Dearg Mhor above Lochan an t-Sluic, which at time of writing, was still showing on OS maps.

Carn Dearg Mor and Meallach Mhor

From the forests surrounding Drumguish, a cycle on estate tracks through quiet Glen Tromie leads to a remote corner of the western Cairngorms, from where much hiking over heather and grass bags Carn Dearg Mor and Meallach Mhor.
