Standing above the eastern end of Loch Laggan, Creag Ruadh is a little hill with several minor summits overlooking the forests of Strath Mashie.

Creag Ruadh stands above the eastern end of Loch Laggan, its rounded ridge and minor summits curving around Coire na Lairige between Strath Mashie and the Spey.
Several approaches lead to Creag Ruadh. The shortest begins at Feagour where a forestry track winds through Black Wood, and to a way-marked path climbing a heather-clad crest scattered with Scots pines. Another route begins near the Spey Dam, visiting the site of the ancient fort of Dun-da-Iamh before ascending Creag Ruadh.
