When approaching Kinlochewe from the south, the bouldery and craggy southern faces of Meall a' Ghiubhais dominate the view ahead.
Meall a' Ghiubhais is tamed by a couple of paths rising from Loch Maree to the east - the 'mountain trail' and the 'pony track'. Both of these paths reach a height of around 500m and to within just over 1km of the summit, though the 'pony track' allows the option of adding in Ruadh-stac Beag into the itinerary.
