Càrn a' Choin Deirg is a remote Fiona rising above Srath Chuileannach, a westward continuation of Strath Carron, in the northern Highlands. The hill stands well back from public roads and occupies a quiet, expansive setting. Its summit forms a broad, grass-covered crest with a trig point at the western end, and the position provides wide views to Seana Bhraigh, Ben Klibreck, and northwards to Coigach and Assynt.
Càrn a' Choin Deirg can be approached from Croick via estate tracks in Srath Chuileannach, followed by a rough, largely pathless ascent over heather. A longer alternative approach is possible from Glen Calvie, using estate tracks through Glen Alladale before a climb up generally grass-covered slopes on the southern side of the hill.
