Ladhar Bheinn (often anglicised to “Larven”) dominates the Knoydart peninsula as its highest and most complex peak. From the south-west it rises in broad grassy slopes above Gleann na Guiserein, while from the north and east its character is far more dramatic, with steep crags and buttresses above deep corries, most notably Coire Dhorrcail.

There are two main approaches to Ladhar Bheinn. From Inverie, a forestry track provides access to the hill before grassy slopes rise to the summit plateau; this route can be extended into a fine circuit that also includes the Corbett Sgurr Coire Choinnichean. The more rewarding approach begins from Barrisdale Bay, where paths thread beneath the corries and ridges, revealing the mountain’s craggy northern aspect and giving a far more dramatic impression of Knoydart’s finest Munro.
